Suspecting illicit affair, man kills relative

Kurnool: Besta Ranganna (51) was killed in the hands of his close relative Mahadevappa in the early hours on Monday at Baichgeri village under Adoni Taluka police station limits. The Taluka police station CI M Murali disclosing the information over phone, has said that Besta Ranganna and Mahadevappa are relatives and are staying in adjacent houses at Baichgeri village.

Mahadevappa is a liquor addict, used to suspect his wife’s character and quarrel with her regularly. Ranganna being a relative, used to intervene and subside their quarrel, said the CI. Mahadevappa suspected Ranganna of having illicit affair with his wife. With a plan, he entered the house of Ranganna in the wee hours of Monday and hit him on his head with a rod. Ranganna died on the spot due to severe head injuries.

After the incident, Mahadevappa fled the scene. The family members who spotted Ranganna in a pool of blood informed to the police. Basing on the complaint lodged by the relatives of the deceased, we have filed a case took up investigation. A man hunt is launched to nab the culprit, the CI said.
