TDP will continue stir till Centre fulfil vows : MLA
Guntur: MLA and TDP district president G V Anjaneyulu said the TDP will continue its agitation till the Centre fulfill promises mentioned in the State Reorganisation Act. Addressing the agitators of Telugu Nadu Upadhya Sangam at Collectorate here on Monday, Anjaneyulu said it is the responsibility of the Centre to honour the promises.
He demanded to scrap the contributory pension system, steps for checking the deficit budget in the state, give sufficient funds for Polavaram Project and separate railway zone for AP.
MLC A S Rama Krishna demanded that the Centre give sufficient funds for the construction of state capital Amaravati, hike income tax limit to Rs 5 lakh, sanction metro rail project for Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam cities and set up steel plant at Kadapa, special package for backward districts and port at Ramayapatnam.
The TDP leaders raised slogans demanding the Centre to fulfill all the assurances made at the time of bifurcation and do justice to AP. Guntur Mirchi Yard chairman Mannava Subba Rao, Telugunadu Upadhhya Sangam district president B Hyma Rao and secretary B V Nageswara Rao were present.
