Rajamahendravaram: Former MP and member of Joint Fact Finding Committee (JFC) Vundavalli Arun Kumar said that they welcome the decision of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) to move a no-confidence motion against the Central government in the Budget session.

Speaking to reporters at the Press Club here on Tuesday, he said that the YSRCP took the right decision to highlight the injustice caused to the State following bifurcation.

There is a need to support the no-confidence motion. He opined that the TDP and other parties also should support the move. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was saying that there is some more time before going ahead to move a no-confidence motion against the Centre which is not correct, he said. He said if MPs from AP move a no-confidence motion at this juncture it will assume significance as the Centre had denied justice to the State.

If 54 MPs support the motion, the Parliament takes it for discussion, which exposes the Central government's step-motherly attitude towards Andhra Pradesh, the former MP said. He also said that if YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy colluded with the BJP-led NDA government, then he would not attend the court every Friday, in reply to a question.

Vundavalli also opined that there was no hidden agreement between the Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan. If any such agreement existed, why would Pawan Kalyan take the lead to constitute JFC with eminent personalities, he questioned. “Pawan Kalyan has been working with commitment to ensure that the Centre fulfilled the promises made to AP in the Reorganisation Act,” he said.

Vundavalli advised YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy to send his MLAs to the ensuing Budget session of the State Assembly to discuss several burning issues on the floor of the House, which is the need of the hour.  Referring to the allegations and counter allegations between the TDP and BJP leaders, he said they were causing confusion to people of the State.
