Water diversion is permanent solution: Mayor

Chittoor: Mayor K Hemalatha has stated on Wednesday that the state government will provide permanent solution to city’s drinking water crisis by diverting Handri-Neeva water to NTR Jalasayam. The government would spend Rs 250 crore for water diversion.

She has said that Industries Minister N Amaranatha Reddy and Chittoor MLA D A Satyaprabha have been actively monitoring the progress of various schemes in the district on the instructions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Hemalatha further said that statue island would come up shortly and all the existing statues of national leaders would be shifted into it.
