Vignan Institute of Information Technology gets incubation status
Visakhapatnam: Vignan Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) bagged MSME Institutional Incubation Centre through which interested entrepreneurs, students and faculty can apply for the Central government’s start-up grants and projects.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Vignan Group and CEO K Pavan Krishna said that VIIT has been selected to develop incubation centre for Visakhapatnam. In a meeting held recently in New Delhi, it was decided by the panel members to grant incubation status to VIIT based on the presentation made by Prof RP Das, Dean(IRD), Dr A Naga Jyothi (HoD-ECE) and students regarding the facilities available in the institute.
Through this scheme, prospective entrepreneurs in and around Visakhapatnam can submit proposals in association with VIIT to get the Central aid to develop start-ups and enterprises. Interested entrepreneurs, students and faculty can approach VIIT coordinator of the scheme for grant up to Rs 8 lakh.
Coordinators said: “Innovative business ideas and project proposals will be approved by the incubation centre as per the guidelines of MSME and the Central government.” “Only two institutes received this status from Andhra Pradesh this time” he added.
He also appreciated the team for serious efforts to get institutional incubation center status for VIIT. Principal of VIIT Dr Challa Narasimham congratulated Prof RP Das, Dr Naga Jyothi, ADM Sampath, and students for the achievement in a meeting here on Wednesday.
VIIT invited the interested entrepreneurs in and around Visakhapatnam to avail the scheme to start new enterprises and projects on this occasion. Deans Dr Ch Harigovinda Rao and Dr K Madhusudhana Rao were present. Interested entrepreneurs can send a proposal to irdviit@gmail.com
