All India Democratic Women’s Association demands arrest of film director RGV

Vijayawada: Representatives of various women's organisations and civil society bodies on Thursday demanded that the film director Ramogopal Varma should be booked under Section 354 and Information Technology Acts for making derogatory comments on women and making porn movie.

All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) on Thursday convened a round-table meeting at MBVK Bhavan in view of the controversy erupted over the movie God, Sex and Truth.

Social activist P A Devi, AIDWA state secretary D Ramadevi and representatives of Mahila Congress, Progress Organisation for Women, NFIW and Anganwadi workers union leaders participated in the meeting. Addressing the gathering, the speakers have said the Vizag police booked cases on film director R G Varma under Sections 507 and 509 on Wednesday. 

They have demanded that the cases should be booked under the Section 354 for outraging the modesty of women. The women leaders have demanded that the government enact a legislation to check porn movies and sites expressing concern over the increasing habit of porn watching in the country. They said many people became porn addicts like that of drug addicts.
