CPM demands 10,000 cr package for Prakasam

Ongole: Prakasam district unit of CPM demanded the state government announce RS 10,000 crore package to the backward Prakasam district in the next budget. The party secretary for eastern area of the district, Punati Anjaneyulu, announced agitations in a phased manner to educate and motivate the public on development of the district.

Speaking to the media at Sundarayya Bhavan here on Thursday, Anjaneyulu said that the party leaders would visit the six pending projects in the district and interact with the locals. The CPM leader, “The TDP government is introducing its last budget on March 8 with nearly Rs 2 lakh crore.

Prakasam district is drought-hit and deprived of education opportunities, water sources; witnesses scanty rainfall,  hit by fluoride water. Prakasam district people should mount pressure on the local leaders who could convince the state government to release a package of Rs 10,000 crore to the district. We will continue our agitation in a phased manner until March 8”.
