Vizianagaram in race for Prime Minister Excellence Award

Vizianagaram: The backward Vizianagaram district is competing with the other districts to bag the Prime Minister Excellence Award, which would be awarded by the Union government. For the past three years, the Central government is presenting PM Excellence Award for the districts for outstanding performance in implementing the government schemes.

So far, the Centre has received around 3,500 nominations from various categories, including innovations, and implementations of flagship programmes. Over 1,000 entries reached the Centre from 640 districts from across the country. Vizianagaram district also sent its nomination and it was shortlisted by the Centre.
