Addresses of 36.847 white card holders missing

Guntur: State Food Security Commissioner JR Pushpa Raj said that there  are 1.44 crore white ration card holders in the state. However, the officials found the addresses of only 1.32 crore families in the Pulse Survey conducted by the officials and addresses of remaining white cardholders went missing. 

Addressing the awareness meeting on ‘AP Food Security Act-2017’ here on Friday, Pushpa Raj said that in Guntur district alone addresses of 36,847 white ration card holders were not traced in the survey conducted in Rompicherla, Machavaram, Eepur,  Nakirekallu and Muppalla mandals in Guntur district.

Similar is the case with the addresses of white card holders in Anakapalli in Visakhapatnam district and Yemmiganur in Kurnool district. He warned that in case of irregularities in distribution of essential commodities, stern action would be taken against them. He said that the Food Commission will take stern action against the officials if they indulge in irregularities in the essential commodities distribution. 

He directed the officials to take care that food items distributed through the Women and Child Welfare Department are distributed properly. He said that the  government is giving top priority for essential commodities distribution.  He directed the officials to take steps to check adulteration of food. 

Civil Supplies Department Commissioner B. Rajasekhar explained significance of Food Security Rules-2017 and instructed the officials to implement it. Food Commission member G Ravibabu, district medical and health officer Dr Yasmin, G Krishnamma and the revenue officials were present.
