Insulted for scoring poor marks, Inter girl ends life
Kurnool: An Intermediate girl student committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Chintalamuni Nagar on Friday night. The victim has been identified as Nasseem Unnisa, pursuing second year intermediate in CV Raman College.
The incident came to light on Saturday when the parents broke open the doors of Nasseem Unnisa’s room. Upon information, the police reached the spot and shifted her body for autopsy. Fourth town Circle Inspector M Ramaiah said though being a bright student, she was said to have scored less marks in the recently held unit tests.
Because of scoring less marks, she was said to have been insulted by her physics lecturer.
Unable to digest the insult that she was faced by her in front of other classmates, she abruptly came to a decision to end her life. After saying a word to her elder sister about the insult by her lecturer, she hanged to the ceiling while the family members are fast asleep. Later, in the morning the family members found her hanging, the CI stated.
The parents of deceased lodged a complaint with police demanding stringent action on college management. Based on complaint, the police filed a case. On learning about the suicide of intermediate student, the student organisation leaders staged a dharna in front of Collectorate demanding action against the college management.
