Oil and Natural Gas Corporation committed to sports promotion

Rajamahendravaram: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has a comprehensive sports policy to encourage and nurture talent in the country. It has innovative HR initiatives to involve employees in sporting activities, said DMR Sekhar speaking at the ONGC All-India Lawn Tennis tournament prize distribution ceremony on Thursday at the base complex.

He said to inculcate sporting fitness and keep illness at bay a Bicyle Club has been started by the ONGC Rajahmundry in association with the AP Special Protection Force. 

Winners of the tournament: (Team event, men above 45) Assam: DJ Borpuzari, Amiya Sarkar, MK Taye, Santanu Medok. Runner-up: Southern: M Srinivas, O Suryanarayana, P V Raju, Chandrasekhar. 

Men below 45 : 
Winner Southern: Rahul, S K P S Bhandari, Sushil Kumar, Kodanda Ram, 
Runner-up: Mumbai: Umesh Meena, Kartik, Veerendranath, Suprith
Team event: Men Above 45 : 
Winner: Assam: Amiya Sarkar, Runner-up: Western Region: Bhansavi.
Team event: women above 45 : 
Winner:Mumbai:  Ujawala B Shinde, Jyoti Swami Jangam, Anushree Khopkar, 
Runner-up: Assam: Ranju Mipun, Meena Saikia, Budhimai Thapa, Mamoni.

Winner: Assam Ranju Mipon, Runner-up Dehra Dun: Pushpa Adhikari.
