Students told to take part in sports actively

Kurnool: Minister for Tourism and Culture Bhuma Akhila Priya called upon students to participate actively in sports and games. Participating as chief guest in the inauguration of state-level rural sports ‘Dhool’ organised at Outdoor Stadium here on Friday, she said that the sports and games would mould the personality of students and make them fit with sound mind.

Later, the leaders introduced themselves to the athletes and played handball to infuse sportsman spirit in them. At the inaugural match, Kurnool and Anantapur teams competed. MLC K E Prabhakar and MLA S V Mohan Reddy accompanied the Minister at the inaugural function. K E Prabhakar said that sports would strengthen the athletes mentally and physically.

S V Mohan Reddy said around 1,500 athletes from across the state participated in the rural sports. On the occasion, cultural programmes were organised in the evening. The MLA urged the people to participate in huge numbers and make the programme a grand success. Tourism Department Regional Director Gopal, SETKUR Chief Executive Officer Sudhakar Reddy and District Sports Development Officer (DSDO) Jagannadh Reddy participated.
