Will Chandrababu throw up surprises in Rajya Sabha elections?

Update: 2018-02-24 17:26 IST

With the schedule for the Rajya Sabha elections out, the guessing game has begun in the ruling Telugu Desam Party. Names are being thrown up and possibilities are being revved up. One name doing rounds is that of AP’s portly finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.

Yanamala is eager to enter the upper house. Also floating around is the name of JP of Lok Satta. Chandrababu feels that though he isn’t directly a part of the TDP, he would effectively voice the concerns of Andhra Pradesh in the upper house.

Though Chandrababu is ostensibly doing a lot of exercise on the names and is eliciting the opinions of the party leaders, these two names are said to be almost fixed.

The TDP can easily get the duo elected. But, the real interest is on the third seat. Going by the numbers, the third seat must go to the YSRCP and it is said to have finalised Nellore entrepreneur Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy as its candidate. But, will the YSRCP win the seat or will there be desertions from the party denying Reddy a victory? Well! The guessing game has begun. Even if two MLAs crossover, the TDP could win the seat.

So, the permutation combination game has begun with RS polls round the corner.
