Huge response to Summit: Haribabu says investors not looking for SCS
Visakhapatnam: While the entire State has been discussing and demanding Special Category Status (SCS) to get more number of industries and other commercial establishments, Visakhapatnam MP and BJP State president K Haribabu said that no industry is looking for the Special Category Status (SCS) to step into Andhra Pradesh.
Terming the tremendous response across the globe to the CIIs Partnership Summit, Haribabu pointed out that even when there is no SCS, thousands of investors arrived to Visakhapatnam to explore the investments in different sectors.
While interacting with the media personnel on the sidelines of the CII Partnership Summit here on Saturday, Haribabu claimed that not only in the present and third CII Partnership Summit in the city, even during the 2016 ad 2017 summits also, thousands of investors participated and assured the State government that they would invest huge money in various sectors.
But, no one is aware and no industrialist inquired about the SCS in the massive events, he pointed out.
During the ongoing Partnership Summit, the government has been expecting Rs 3 lakh crore to 5 lakh crore investments not only from entrepreneurs in the country but also from foreign companies.
Ambassadors, Trade Ministers, business tycoons and commercial establishment houses from 40 nations are taking part in the Partnership Summit. The investors never look at the sops from the government, they would look at the ground realities and government’s support and very particularly infrastructure and pleasant atmosphere to invest the funds in any sector, Haribabu opined.
Talking about the grounding of the units against the number of MoUs with huge investments, he said for grounding of the units it would take some time and overnight no industry would come up.
