AP Govt should work with private sector

Visakhapatnam: Delegates and panel speakers on the second day of the CIIs Partnership Summit opined that the government and private sector should work in coordination for development of both aviation and defence sectors. 

The speakers also suggested for setting up of informal aerospace innovation clubs for better coordination from the primary level. Majority of the delegates opined that there was huge scope for development in aviation and defence sectors. 

They have said that they are able to produce ancillary units at present and permission should be provided for manufacture of major components. Commodore Ajay Sharma of Bharat Forge sought more freedom to the private sector and cited the instance of the Government not allowing the guns it had manufactured for a test  in India and they had to go  to US for test firing.

Commissioner of Industries Sidhartha Jain explained about the opportunities in Andhra Pradesh to set up units under defence sector. He said infrastructure facilities, subsidy of Rs 10 crore in GST, 50 per cent subsidy in plant and machinery expenditure to those industries come up with an investment of Rs 500 crore and ready to provide employment to 2,000 people. Amber Dubey of KPMG said that Andhra Pradesh Government has been encouraging investments in aviation and defence sectors. 

CEO, Jensor Aerospace Arunakar Misra said state should achieve self sufficiency in production of components in aviation and defence sectors. Air marshal Aswani K Nabh, Vem Technologies chairman V VenkataRaju, vice-president of Bharat Forge Ajay Sarma conducted the discussions.
