APSEEDCO signs pact with TERI to promote EE technologies
Amaravati: The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), a leading research institute in the fields of clean energy, water management, pollution management, sustainable agriculture and climate resilience has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Andhra Pradesh State Energy Efficiency Development Corporation (APSEEDCO) for technical collaboration to promote energy efficient technologies and global best practices among industries and other key sectors in the state.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu along with Energy Minister K Kala Venkata Rao and Principal Secretary Ajay Jain during the Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. “This MOU will extend to undertake joint activities such as energy audits, technology implementation, renewable energy promotion, capacity building and awareness generation to promote cleaner technologies among different sectors in the state of Andhra Pradesh,” energy department said in a release on Sunday.
The specific activities of the MoU are facilitating adoption of globally accepted cleaner technologies and best practices for deployment in different end-use sectors and dialoguing with government agencies and financial institutions to seek support for initiatives and programmes to promote energy efficient and cleaner technologies.
The department said that several global giants have entered into MoUs with New Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) and around 20 national and international agencies proposed investments worth Rs 68,047 crore. Major energy giants such as International Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd, Greenko Energies Pvt. Ltd, ReNew Power Ventures Pvt. Ltd etc entered into pact with NREDCAP on Sunday.
