Delay in release of Sri Venkateswara University results hits students hard

Tirupati: More than 5,500 students, who are pursuing postgraduate and graduate courses in 350 colleges affiliated to the Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), were facing hardships to know their semester exam results.

Students were forced to visit the SVU’s examination branch to know about their results. The delay in announcement of exam results attributed to lack of coordination between the exam branch and Barath Innovations, an IT firm.

The IT company was entrusted with the task of releasing the results. It may be noted that a year ago varsity officials handed over the results automation to Barath Innovations for speedy release of results. But, there is no change in the release of exam results. Students allege that the varsity’s exam branch is not conducting paper valuation as per university norms.

Students of Law and Journalism courses have accused the exam branch for failing students to collect more fees from them. More than 500 students in third semester of taxation subject and fourth semester of media law were failed in the last and the present academic years. Results of five courses were still pending.

Over the delay in announcement of results, SFI district leader Madav Krishna told The Hans India that representations were submitted on several occasions for timely release of results. “But, varsity officials did not heed to our request. Rector or any other official cannot bring the change in exam branch,” he stated. The SFI leader sought intervention of V-C in paper valuation and to ensure promptannouncement of results.
