Stamps on top 12 tourist destinations in AP to be released

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department made plans to release stamps on top 12 tourist destinations of the state. The department has taken initiative to utilise the Postal Department’s My Stamps scheme for giving wide publicity to the important tourist destinations in the state.

The important places like Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, Durga temple to Borra caves would appear on stamps along with the AP Tourism Department’s logo. The main objective of the scheme is to provide publicity on the important tourist destinations in the state and attract the tourists from foreign countries. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the stamps soon, said Tourism department officials.

As per the proposal, Tourism department has identified Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirupati, Sri Mallikarjuna temple in Srisailam, Goddess Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada, Tribal exhibition in Araku, Gandikota in Kadapa, RK Beach in Vizag, Chandragiri Port in Chittoor, Pavitra Sangamamin Amaravati, Papi Hills in Rajahmundry, Borra Caves in Araku, Pulicat Lake in Nellore district and Meditating Buddha in Amaravati for release of stamps. Already the State government has launched various innovative schemes to boost tourism sector in the State.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is keen on the progress of Tourism sector. He believes the Tourism will provide huge employment opportunities and attract investment from various countries. The officials of Tourism department have planned the stamps release concept. Tourism Department Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena has said that the stamps release would create some more importance to the  destinations.
