15 including MLA’s son nabbed for robbing as fake Income-Tax sleuths

Adoni: The Kosgi police on Tuesday arrested 15 fake Income-Tax (I-T)department officials, along with a car, two motor cycles, 138 bills, 14 cell phones and half-a-kg of gold, under the supervision of local DSP Prasad. 

Addressing the media, the DSP said that Boya Billekallu Mangamma, wife of Boya Govindu of H Maravani village of Peddakadabur mandal, has lodged a complaint with the Peddakadabur police stating six persons posing themselves as officials of the Income Tax department have robbed her house on January 31 this year.

The DSP stated six of the arrested persons had broke open the house door took away a metal box containing 138 ten-rupee coins and two pairs of gold ear-studs, after finding nothing worthwhile in two houses.

The police nabbed the fake I-T officials after striving for three months. Out of the fifteen accused, one person is known to be the son of an MLA. The DSP praised the work of Kosigi CI Daiva Prasad, Peddakadabur SI Sivamjai, ASI Anand, HC Shanta Rajulu, Constable Alisha and staff in effecting the arrest. He said five other fake I-T officials were absconding. The cops exuded confidence of nabbing them.
