Amaravati: Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao suggested changes in the new Assembly designs presented by Norman Foster designing company on Wednesday during a review meeting on it.

Sivaprasada Rao said that the Norman Foster has presented the iconic Assembly building structure here in Velagapudi. The Speaker suggested to increase the number of blocks to the administrative employees and directed that all the employees should be accommodated at single area to ease the administration.

If they located at various floors, then the administration will become complicated exercise, Kodela observed. The Speaker directed Norman Foster to leave at least 20 per cent of free space for the future generations use in the Assembly. At the same time, he observed that the overall design of Assembly building was good. He suggested the design company to come up with new interior designs.

The Norman Foster officials explained that they have designed to accommodate Assembly and Council Halls in the first floor. In the first floor, Speaker’s chamber, Chairman’s Chamber, Ministers and Whips peshis will come.

A Central Hall, BAC meeting hall and others also would also come up in this area. In the second floor of iconic structure, peshis for Assembly Committees, technical team management centre, recreation hall and others will come. Apart from them, a museum also will come up in the second floor.

In the ground floor, the Norman Fosters designed two blocks for Assembly employees. Here, the Chief Security Officer’s office, media point, Assembly Library, a Health dispensary and others will come. In the meeting, Council Chairman N M D Farooq also participated.
