Students boycott classes demanding Special Category Status

Visakhapatnam: Demanding Special Category Status, railway zone, Andhra University students observed bandh on Wednesday. Responding to the call given by the DYFI, thousands of Andhra University students boycotted the classes and staged a protest and took out a rally on the campus. Supporting the university students, students of various colleges also boycotted the classes and joined the rally.

The rally was started from the Andhra University Engineering College campus and concluded at Three Town Police Station Junction. During the rally and protest, the students raised slogans for Special Category Status and railway zone to Andhra Pradesh.

The students alleged that the TDP and BJP government cheated the entire people of Andhra Pradesh. Addressing the students, DYFI president VV Srinivasa Rao condemned the arrests of the students at various places. He condemned the arrest of leaders Priyanaka and Raju.
