Anantha Lakshmi Institute of Technology and Sciences celebrates its tenth anniversary

Anantapur: Anantha Lakshmi Institute of Technology and Sciences (ALITS) Chairman Anantaramudu’s birthday and its tenth anniversary were celebrated on a grand scale here on Thursday, with Director of AP Skill Development Corporation K Lakshminarayana, JNTU-A Vice-Chancellor Prof S Srinivasa Kumar, and Padma Sri Awardee Prof Kolakaluri Enoch as the guests.

Meritorious students were felicitated and given prizes along with those who fared well in sports. The students presented cultural programmes. Addressing the gathering, Anantaramudu stated that the college was entering into agreements with some prominent organisations for achieving 100 per cent placements of students.

Prof Lakshminarayana advised the students to utilise the benefits of technology and new inventions for their betterment, besides securing good marks. Prof Srinivasa Kumar stated that efforts of Anantaramudu in establishing the college in a backward district for the benefit of students were worthy of emulation.

He noted that the management was striving to develop the college on the lines of those affiliated to JNTU. Prof Enoch pointed out that thanks to the location of the college land prices in adjoining villages had appreciated benefitting farmers. College Principal Dr V Murthy Rao explained the progress achieved during the last ten years.

CEO M Ramesh Naidu stated that a programme in coordination with the British Council has been arranged to enable the students to improve their English language skills. Skill Development Director Dr M Surendra Naidu said the college had signed MoUs with Siemens, ISB and Facebook because of which 209 students were able to secure jobs.
