Call to YSRCP cadre to intensify stir for Special Category Status

Eluru: Hundreds of activists of YSRCP staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Thursday demanding the Centre accord Special Category Status (SCS) to the state.

The workers took out a rally to the Collectorate and staged a dharna in response to a call given by the YSRCP State Committee. The conveners of all the constituencies, party leaders, workers took part in the dharna.

MLC Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (Nani) also took part in the dharna at the Collectorate. Earlier, the leaders paid tributes to Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy by garlanding his statue at fire station centre.

Later, along with the workers, the leaders reached the Collectorate in a rally. The workers, including women, raised slogans demanding the centre accord the SCS to the state.  The YSRCP youth conducted a motorbike rally on the occasion.

MLC Alla Nani addressing the dharna said that the party cadre is ready to strive to fight for SCS to Andhra Pradesh.  He said that the state’s interests are important to the YSRCP, hence, party President Jaganmohan Reddy started his fight against the anti-people policies of the ruling Telugu Desam party in the state. He called upon the cadre to intensify the agitation drawing inspiration from the party chief.

Eluru Parliament Committee convener Kotagiri Sridhar, Narsapuram Parliamentary Committee convener Mudnuri Prasada Raju, leaders Koyye Mosen Raju, former MLAs Kottu Satyanarayana, Karumuri Nageswara Rao,.  

Taneti Vanita, Patapati Sarraju, Ghanta Murali and others participated in the dharna. YSRCP MLC Nani alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu pledged the state’s interests for his gain.
