Special Category Status is the right of AP

Ongole: The YSR Congress Party staged a massive protest in front of the Collectorate as part of the statewide agitations on Thursday. YSRCP general secretary Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, Ongole MP YV Subba Reddy, Markapuram MLA Janke Venkata Reddy, Santanutalapadu MLA Adimulapu Suresh, leaders and cadre from the Assembly constituencies in the district tool part in agitation demanding Special Category Status for the state.

Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said that the BJP and TDP demanded the Special Category Status first but changed their mind later to accept the special package. He announced that the YSRCP is committed to the Special Category Status, which helps the development of the state by encouraging the industrialists establish industries and provide jobs to the unemployed youth. He said that Jaganmohan Reddy announced support to the party that gives SCS and will continue the agitation until the state gets it.

Ongole MP YV Subba Reddy said that the YSRCP MPs will participate in the protests in New Delhi for the SCS and exert pressure for the discussion and voting on private member bill and notice under Rule 184 given by him for SCS to the state. On March 21, the YSRCP MPs will move no confidence motion and continue agitation, he said. 

If the Union government will not heed to the demand, Subba Reddy added that the YSRCP MPs will tender resignation to their posts in Speaker format for not implementing the promises made in Parliament and join the public in the fight for SCS.
