AgriGold victims families thank Chandrababu Naidu
Vijayawada: Family member of an AgriGold victim K Lakshmi expressed her gratitude to AgriGold Customers and Agents Welfare Association (AGCAWA) honorary president Muppalla Nageswara Rao for their sincere support in fight for justice at a programme here on Friday.
She also thanked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. About 100 relatives of the AgriGold victims received Rs 5 lakh cheque each from the government of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
Addressing media, Nageswara Rao said after years of protest by AGCAWA and the victims of AgriGold, the government sanctioned the cheques to relatives of the deceased. Thanking the Chief Minister for releasing cheques, he appealed him to act against the prime accused A S Rama Rao and others. He demanded that the AgriGold assets should be auctioned and the amount should be distributed to the victims.
One of the kin who received Rs 5 lakh cheque expressed happiness and said that she lost her husband in 2016 and since then she was working as domestic help and struggling with financial problem as she was the only bread winner in the family. After receiving the amount, she is relieved from finance problems and thanked the AGCAWA members and the government.
AGCAW state chief Mantru Naik, state joint secretary B V Chandra Shekar, secretary K Augustine, Guntur district AGCAWA members K Rambabu, N Venkatesh and M Balarami Reddy were present.
