Kodela bats higher education for girls
Guntur: Speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao stressed the importance of higher education for girls. He presented Coromandel Pratibha Puraskarams to girl students studying in the Zilla Parishad High Schools at a programme here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said if housewife is educated, the family will have security and added that in case of need she will do job and extend support to the family.
He called upon the girls to avail facilities provided by the government. He pointed out that women excelling in all fields on par with men. Later, he presented Coromandel Pratibha Puraskarams to the girl students.
Coramandal International vice-presidents GV Subba Reddy, K Satyanarayana were the guests of honour. Coramandal International Limited presented cash awards to the rural girls. As many as 50 Zilla Parishad Schools in rural area were selected from 15 districts of both the Telugu States.
Girls, who passed Class IX and studying Class X were chosen for cash awards. First prize was Rs 5,000 and second prize was Rs 3,500.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson Md Janimun stressed the need for higher education for girls and suggested them to avail the opportunities provided by the government.
