Regularisation of power contract staff demanded

Kadapa: AITUC state general secretary P Obulesu has warned of state government with severe consequences if it fails to resolve the long pending issues including regularising the services of contract employees working in Rayalaseema Thermal Power Project (RTPP). 

Speaking to the media after visiting relay fast camp organised by contract workers of RTPP here on Friday, he recalled that regularisation of contract workers of various government departments is one of the assurances made by Chandrababu Naidu during 2014 polls.

But, he failed to keep his promise. He said contract employees working with RTPP are rendering the services like permanent employees. The AITUC leader said if the government fails to resolve their problem, AITUC will intensify the agitation at state-level.

Meanwhile, tension prevailed at RTPP with the one of the board directors Sundar Singh asked the contract workers to join the duty immediately otherwise, he warned to recruit new persons by terminating them from services.
