BJP members ready for counter attack if TDP blames Centre

Visakhapatnam: The BJP MLAs and MLCs are gearing up for counter attack in the coming Budget session of the State Assembly beginning on March 5 if the TDP members raise issues like Special Category Status, railway zone and other sops listed in the AP Bifurcation Bill-2018 and resort to blaming the BJP at Centre.

The BJP MLAs and MLCs have decided not to remain silent in the Legislative Assembly and Council. The senior leaders of the party have already given the statistical information (details of funds sanctioned by the Centre to the State) to the party members. The senior leaders also directed the MLAs and MLCs to respond if the ruling TDP members made any adverse comments against the Centre.BJP sources said that the party high command has sent a clear message to the members to be cautious during the session and not to keep mum if allegations are made against the Centre.

BJP Legislature Party meeting was held in the city on Saturday. In view of the current political situation in the State, the party high command directed all the senior leaders to attend the meeting. Party observer from New Delhi V Sateesh supervised the meeting and reportedly passed on a message from BJP national president Amit Shah to them. 

Lok Sabha members K Haribabu, Gangaraju, MLCs Somu Veerraju, PNV Madhav, K Satyanarayana Raju, MLA P Vishnukumar Raju, Ministers P Manikyala Rao, Kamineni Srinivas and party state observer Ravindra Raju attended the meeting. During the meeting, the legislature party discussed all the possible issues which are expected to be raised by the TDP members in the Assembly.

“We have decided to protect the dignity of the House and also continue the relationship of an ally with the ruling TDP. However, if they make allegations and blame the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre as the leader of the party in the Assembly, I will give counter response. If, they opened fire we will respond reciprocally,” Vishnukumar Raju said.
