Railway police seize gold biscuits worth ` 1.1 crore

Guntur: The Government Railway Police (GRP) seized 3.5 kg gold biscuits worth Rs 1.10 crore while they were being carried from Chennai to Rajahmundry aboard Seshadri Express at 2 am on Saturday.
On a tip off, the GRP officials conducted the check and noticed gold biscuits weighing 3.5 kg illegally being carried from Chennai without any bills. They seized the gold biscuits. Railway Superintendent of police K V Mohan Rao said that the accused D Anjibabu and P Prabhakar Rao who were working in Ashirvad Jewelleries in Rajahmundry, purchased gold biscuits in Chennai. The police took Anjibabu and Prabhakar Rao into custody for questioning. They registered a case and took up investigation.
