VPT chief launches ambulance service
Visakhapatnam: Chairman of Visakhapatnam Port Trust MT Krishna Babu launched ambulance service, including the latest cancer treatment medical equipment comprising hysteroscopy, blood cell separator, dialysis machine, cots and RO plant at Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre situated at Golden Jubilee Hospital, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, here on Saturday, sponsored by Rotary Club Visakha Port City and Rotary Club, Secunderabad West, Rotary Club of Naperville, USA. An ambulance equipped with hysteroscopy, blood cell separator, dialysis machine and patient cot was kept for ready for patients. Similarly, an RO Plant for safe drinking water was set up on the hospital premises. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of VPT stated that port is happy to associate with Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital for extending treatment to cancer patients. The VPT allotted one floor in the Golden Jubilee Hospital free of cost for the purpose, he added. The VPT likes to associate with NGOs to provide safe drinking water to the public by installing water ATMs 24 x 7 at various important locations in the city at a nominal cost of Re 1 per 20 litres.
Noted Oncologist and Director of Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital Dr Raghunadha Rao expressed gratitude to the Chairman of VPT for extending free accommodation and urged to consider providing dormitory facility for the attendants of the cancer patients to stay during the treatment. Responding to the request, Krishna Babu agreed to consider and assured that VPT is in the forefront in rendering service to the to the people.
