AP CM should sit on indefinite fast in New Delhi: Congress

Visakhapatnam: Senior Congress leader C Ramachandraiah demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should sit on an indefinite hunger strike at New Delhi demanding that the BJP-led NDA government sanction Special Category Status to the State.

Under present circumstances, if Chandrababu Naidu sits on an indefinite hunger strike, the Centre would give the SCS to the State, he predicted.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, Ramachandraiah said that during the Congress rule, the then Opposition leader demanded white paper on the development and the Congress government honoured his demand and released the white paper.

He said if the Chief Minister had the courage, he should also release a white paper on the developments that have taken place in the State during the last three-and-half years.

Ramachandraiah pointed out that the State was facing a financial crisis. The government is also finding it difficult to pay salaries to the Staff. However, the Chief Minister is not looking at the status of the exchequer and was wasting public money in the name of events and foreign tours, the Congress leader alleged.

Talking about Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s comments on setting up a third front at the national level, Ramachandraiah alleged that to escape from the phone tapping case, KCR was playing a drama while Chandrababu Naidu was trying to divert people’s attention from the Cash-for-Vote case.

Commenting on Chandrababu Naidu completing 40 years in politics, he alleged that Naidu always followed the ‘Use and throw’ theory. He said Naidu had earlier utilised the services of Nandamuri Harikrishna and Jr NTR and later ignored them.
