Vijayawada:  Andhra Pradesh First Society (AP First Society), a civil society organization, on Sunday organised ‘March 4 AP’ from NTR Circle to IGMC Stadium on Sunday demanding the Union government grant Special Category Status (SCS) to the state and fulfil the assurances made to the state in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

Several volunteers of the AP First society, civilians and supporters of some political parties enthusiastically joined the march.  Holding the placards, they raised slogans demanding the Central government grant Special Category Status to the state and fulfil the promises made to the state as per the Bifurcation Act. They also raised slogans blaming the BJP for cheating the state by not releasing grants as per the bifurcation Act.

The protest march passed via Pinnamaneni Poly Clinic Road and reached the IGMC Stadium. The organisers warned that they continue the protests and will take the agitation to the mandal-level if the Central government fails to concede the demands of the five crore Telugu people.

AP First Society president BGR Mandava, members Chaganti Vijay Bhaskar, Gadde Hareesh, S Nageswaran and others led the protest march. Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan and Penamaluru MLA Bode Prasad joined the march and expressed solidarity.
