Train staff on usage of safety equipment: MLC

Kakinada: Joint Collector Mallikarjuna flagged off the 47th National Security Day rally here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the Joint collector said that industrial safety is the index of nation’s development and everyone should be aware of industrial safety and security. He said that everyone should know about the usage of equipment during the emergency situations.

MLC Chikkala Ramachandra Rao said that management of industries should train their employees properly over the usage of safety equipment. Recalling the Bhopal gas tragedy incident, which took thousands of lives in 1984, the MLC said the victims and their families were still suffering from many diseases. Later they took the oath of security day. 

On the occasion, a mock drill was organised by the cadets of National Disaster Response Force on how to save lives of the people in emergency situations like in the fire, chemical and gas leaks. The cadets displayed the rescue methods in emergency situations at industries also.
Earlier, Joint Collector Mallikarjuna flagged off the rally from Apollo hospital to JNTU.

Industries Department Director Bala Kishore, Deputy Inspector of Factories Siva Kumar Reddy, Apollo CEO Dr Sandip and Godavari EHS Association president Gyana Sundaram participated. Prior to this JC launched an exhibition of emergency utensils and apparatus that was useful in emergencies at the JNTU.
