All India Democratic Women Association seeks action on Ram Gopal Varma

Visakhapatnam: The district committee of All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA) organised a rasta roko at Dabagardens in the city on Monday demanding the arrest of ‘God, Sex and Truth’(GST) film director Ram Gopal Varma(RGV) for making vulgar comments against a women activist for questioning him on porno films.

AIDWA leader P Varalakshmi said due to their continued efforts, the police had booked cases against RGV under respective sections. However, the police failed to act against RGV. The AIDWA leaders also said that they will siege the meeting venue of RGV on March 7.

The women leaders stated that sexual violence against women at work place in both public and private sectors were on the rise despite the government set up internal committees to take complaints from harassed women employees at various firms in the district.
