Challenges in infra sector discussed
Nellore: SDSC SHAR & Sriharikota-Chennai Chapter of the Indian Society of Systems for Science and Engineering (ISSE) organized one-day national workshop on challenges and modern techniques in realising complex infrastructure at SDSC SHAR Centre on Monday. The workshop was inaugurated by Centre Director P Kunhikrishnan.
Deputy Director V Ranganathan and retired distinguished scientist of DAE K A David were also present. P Kunhikrishnan, Director SDSC SHAR, explained highlights of the ISSE major infrastructure projects of SHAR. Speakers basically addressed during the plenary talks shared their valuable experiences with the student delegates.
The workshop covered diversified engineering fields such as nuclear reactor constructions, bridge constructions, under water foundation techniques, and metro rail constructions etc. The speakers also covered technical areas of planning, designing and erection of complex projects. Thousand participants including 800 students, professors, teachers, industrialists from all over the country participated in the workshop. P Gopikrishna, Group Head, MSA & Chapter Secretary, ISSE, also participated.
Dr Umesh Rai, CGM, Metro Rail, Chennai; P Niranjana, Vice-President, Special Bridge Construction ECC, L&T, S Jayapuriar, Joint General Manager, MECON, Ranchi; R Balaji, DGM, TCE, Chennai; and N Bhaskaramurty, Senior Vice-President, Navayuga Engineering Construction Limited, Hyderabad and others were present.
