40 farm workers hurt in mishap

Vijayawada: Forty women farm workers were injured when a speeding tractor trailer in which they were travelling lost control and overturned on Wednesday near Anantavaram village in Mylavaram mandal.

Three women sustained fractures to their hands and were shifted to Vijayawada government hospital. The women belong to Pondugala ST colony and were going to attend chilli farm works in nearby village. 

The tractor driver tried to avert a collision with a bike coming in opposite direction. Consequently, the vehicle lost control and overturned. Sixty women workers were travelling in the tractor trailer when the mishap occurred.

More than 40 of them hurt in the accident. Luckily, most of them escaped with minor injuries. Mylavaram police are investigating the case.
