BJP wants PM’s photo during promotion of Central schemes

Vijayawada: BJP floor leader P Vishnukumar Raju asked the State government to print the photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Centre-sponsored schemes including urban health centres in the Health department.

Speaking on telemedicine programme during the Question Hour in the AP Assembly on Wednesday, he pointed out that the Centre was releasing funds for development of health sector. 

The government should use PM's photo along with that of the Chief Minister. On the occasion, he also praised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for providing able leadership to the State. 

He said Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership to the State post bifurcation brought laurels to the State.He said the Opposition YSRCP created several hurdles to various development projects especially in irrigation sector but the Chief Minister ensured that they were successfully completed and turned into a reality. 

Condolence motion: The Assembly moved condolence motions over the demise of former members of the House Madala Janakiram, Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu, M V Krishna Rao and Pagadala Ramaiah. 

The members of the House expressed grief over the demise of the former members of the house and expressed condolences to the bereaved families. 

Demands fire safety office:  Government whip K Ravikumar requested the State government to take steps to start mines safety office in Andhra Pradesh. 

He pointed out during the Question Hour in the Assembly that the State had lost its mines safety office after the bifurcation. He said that establishment of fire safety office in the State would help in implementing better safety measures.

Speaking on the occasion, MLAs T Sravankumar, Satyanarayana and Kimidi Mrunalini expressed concern over the safety of workers in the quarries. 

They said that accidents were frequently occurring in the mines. The roads in the villages were getting damaged due to the heavy vehicles movement from the quarries. 

However, Minister for Mines Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao said that the government has been asking those operating the mines to follow all the precautions as per the recommendations of safety committees.
