Buchepalli vows to remain loyal to YSRCP president Jagan
Darsi: The dissident YSR Congress Party leader and former Darsi MLA Buchepalli Sivaprasada Reddy held a cordial meeting with his followers and well-wishers in the constituency hre on Wednesday to take a decision about his future.
However, after discussions, he announced that he would remain loyal to the late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his family and would not go against the decision of YS Jaganmohan Reddy. But, he urged the party president to reconsider his decision to offer the Darsi MLA seat to Badam Madhava Reddy.
According to sources, the former MLA Buchepalli and his followers believe that Badam Madhava Reddy worked against him and was responsible for his defeat in the 2014 elections. After 2014, the Buchepalli family has remained idle in politics and last year, they told YSRCP president Jagan that they were not interested in contesting in the 2019 elections.
They offered support to any candidate, except Madhava Reddy for the Darsi seat. However, to their surprise, the YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy announced that Madhava Reddy would be the party’s candidate for Darsi at a meeting in Tallur during in his Prajasankalpa Yatra on Sunday.
The Buchepalli family left the place immediately expressing their dissatisfaction. Though the senior leaders like Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and Vijaya Sai Reddy held discussions with the Buchepalli family, they didn’t budge much.
