Burglar nabbed, booty worth 17 lakh seized
Tirupati: A habitual offender and inter-state burglar was arrested by the Central Crime Police (CCS) on Monday evening. They seized silver and gold ornaments worth Rs 17 lakh from the burglar K Giribabu. CCS DSP Ravi Shankar Reddy produced the accused before the media here on Tuesday with the booty recovered.
Addressing the media, Reddy said that the accused, who hailed from Kanchipuram of Tamil Nadu district, was arrested by the cops on Monday evening under the limits of Renigunta Police Station.
After being grilled by the police, the accused confessed that he was a habitual offender for the last three years. Many times, Giribabu was arrested for his involvement in house-breaking cases and sentenced to imprisonment by the court. Urban Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Mohanty has lauded the efforts of the CCS cops.
