Contract employees to lay siege to Vidut Soudha today

Vijayawada: Tight security posted at Vidyut Soudha, the headquarter of the Andhra Pradesh electricity department in view of the call given by the contract employees to lay siege to the office on March 7 demanding that the government concede their demands. It may be noted that the contract employees are continuing agitation since two weeks demanding regularisation of services and hike in pay. 

But the government remained unmoved. The talks held by the government officials with the JAC leaders of the electricity employees unions failed to yield result. In this backdrop, the contract employees decided to lay the siege to the head office.

The policy also decided to be on high alert and deployed armed policemen. Meanwhile, the electricity contract employees continued stir at the Dharna Chowk on Tuesday and vowed to continue the struggle till the government concedes their demand.
