One held for selling gutka

Eluru: Two Town police arrested a person for selling banned gutka and khainee packets here on Wednesday. On a tip-off, a police team raided the house of G Seshagiri Rao at Yadav Nagar in Tangellamudi area on Wednesday, according to G Madhubabu CI of Two-town police station.

During the raid, they found stock of banned gutka and khainee packets. The accused Seshagiri Rao used to travel to Rayagada in Odisha and bring the banned gutka, khainee packets to Eluru.

He used to sell those stock at a higher price in the market. Police seized Rs 1.50 lakh worth khainee packets at his house, CI said. The stock was seized and accused was arrested, police added.
