Tainted VROs suspended

Visakhapatnam: The income of VRO of Malkapuram village Sanjeev Kumar crossed Rs 100 crore here while the ACB sleuths are still continuing their search for assets of the tainted officer here at Mulagada VRO office Gajuwaka in the city on Tuesday. 

ACB Circle Inspector of Police Golagani Appa Rao carried out the raids. According to ACB officials, during the raid, they found 30 original land documents worth crores of rupees in the name of Sanjeev Kumar and his three benamis VS Mallikarjun, Lova Raju and Daniel at Flat No 303, Sai Aditya Nilayam near Chaitanyanagar in the city.

The tainted officer maintained friendly relationship with various realtors in the State and incorporated the land grabbing techniques by changing the details on the website, ‘WebLand’ of villages. 

The officials also found photocopies relating to documents of 180 acres land at Gangubudi village in L Kota area in Vizianagaram in which the tainted officer planned to purchase lands from the farmers at a cheaper price and setup a real estate firm with on the  name ‘Sanjeev Vanam’. 

The market value of the lands is Rs 50 lakh per acre at Gangubudi in which Sanjeev had already paid Rs 57.25 lakh as advance. The ACB officials seized all the originals and other related documents. 

It also identified many properties belonging to the tainted officer Sanjeev at Madhurwada, Yendada, Gajuwaka, Pardesipalem and Anakapalle. The ACB officials seized properties worth Rs 30 crore of another tainted VRO of  Maddilapalem cluster Polisetty Venkateswar Rao  during the  raids.

Meanwhile, Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) of AP Anil Chandra Puneta announced that the two tainted VROs were suspended.
