Allocations for BCs, SCs, STs & Minorities increased

Amaravati: The state government has increased the components in the state budget for the development of SCs, Backward classes, Tribals and Minorities. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Thursday presented the annual budget for the year 2018-19 in the Assembly at Velagapudi. 

It is observed that the government has increased the allocations for the welfare of the weaker sections keeping in view of the elections due in one year. The funds for SC component has been increased from Rs.9,847 crore to Rs.11,228 crore marking an increase of 14 per cent.

Similarly, the ST component has been increased by 18 per cent. The government enhanced the budget allocation from Rs.3,528 crore to Rs.4,176 crore for the year 2018-19 for STs.

The allocation for Backward classes has been increased from Rs.10,000 crore to Rs.12,000 crore marking an increase of 20 per cent. In all, Rs.1,000 crore has been allocated for the welfare of Kapus. Allocations to Minority welfare also increased from Rs.840 crore in 2017-18 to Rs.1,102 crore for the year 2018-19 with the increase of 31 per cent.

  • Toddy tappers: From Rs.35 to Rs.70 crore
  • Valmiki/Boyas: From Rs.25 to Rs.50 crore
  • Vadderas : From Rs.25 crore to Rs.50 crore
  • Viswa Brahmins: From Rs.30 crore to Rs.50 crore
  • Salivahanas: From Rs.30 crore to Rs.50 crore
  • Sagaras/ Upparas: From 25 crore to Rs.40 crore
  • Medaras: From Rs.20 crore to Rs.30 crore
  • Krishna Balijas: From Rs.20 crore to Rs.25 crore
  • Fishermen: Rs.12 crore to Rs.77 crore
  • Vysyas:  to get Rs.30 crore
