Collector seeks PSUs help

Visakhapatnam: PSUs, MPs and MLAs should cooperate for the development of the government hospitals in the city, said Collector Pravin Kumar. As there are several immediate urgent needs in the hospitals, the Development Committee of the government hospitals decided to knock the doors of the PSUs for release of CSR funds and share in the government allocated funds to the MPs and MLAs.

The Hospital Development Committee of KGH, Victoria, Rani Chandramathi Devi,  Chest, Eye and ENT hospitals in the city has decided to seek funds from the Public Sector Units, MP and MLAs to take up the development works in the hospitals.

The Hospital Development Committee meeting was chaired by Collector Pravin Kumar here on Wednesday. Discussing about the needs and issues of the hospitals, the Collector and Chairman of the Committee directed the superintendents to interact with the PSUs to get funds under the Corporate Social Responsibility. The superintendents of the hospitals explained the needs and urgent works to be taken up at their respective hospitals.

During the meeting, the superintendents informed the Collector that drinking water, canteen, power supply, plumbing works and maintenance of various equipment should be taken up. In turn,  the Collector directed the hospital superintendents to arrange Use and Pay toilets in every hospital and ask the PSUs to come forward for the construction of toilet blocks.
