The gap between TDP and its alliance BJP has become wide open.

With Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s statement on Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh might not be granted, TDP Chief and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu took a crucial decision.

According to his directions, two TDP MPs and Union ministers YS Chowdary and Ashok Gajapathi Raju have decided to resign from their posts.

Both will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday evening to submit their resignations.

Meanwhile, two BJP Ministers have already resigned from the AP Cabinet.

Speaking in this regard, TDP MP and Union Minister of state for science and technology Sujana Chowdary said that he is submitting his resignation to his post in the Central cabinet today, on the directions of Chandrababu.

Quoting problems regarding Special Category Status and other financial issues as the reason for the resignation, the Minister said that the promises made on the floor of Parliament have not been kept and hence they have decided to step down.

Stating that their resignation is not a good move, Sujana Chowdary said that unfortunately due to unavoidable circumstances they are resorting to this move.

Nevertheless, he said that both of them would continue to work as parliamentarians for Andhra Pradesh.
