Sankaracharya of Sharada Peet visits Srisailam temple

Srisailam: Sankaracharya of Sringeri Sharada Peet Jagadguru Vidushekhara Bharati on Wednesday visited the Mallikarjuna Swamy temple here. He was received at the Rajagopuram by temple archakas, veda pundits and officials with ‘Purnakumbham’ welcome.

The Swamiji performed abishekam and archana to the deities. The temple Executive Officer Narayana Bharath Gupta presented a memento to the Sankaracharya.

Addressing the gathering, the EO stated that there have been good relations between the Sringeri Peet and the Srisailam Devasthanam because of which all peetadhipathi frequently visited the shrine here to offer special poojas to the deity, besides offering cooperation to the devasthanam.

The Sankaracharya wished that regular Vedaparayanam should be compulsorily conducted in the temple. More development works should take place in the shrine, he stressed.
