Technical fests launching pads for students’ skills

Visakhapatnam: Visakha Institute of Engineering and Technology (VIET) celebrated its annual technical fest Pravaha-2K18 at Narava on Wednesday. Chairman of Kumar Raja Projects Limited K Kumar Raja was the chief guest and interacted with the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Kumar Raj said that in the competitive world, technical skills will play a key role and every student should develop multi-skills. Students should master not only technical skills, but also soft skills.

Of late, the college managements have been organising several events to bring out hidden talents in the students, he said. Secretary of VIET P Venkateswara Rao said that the event like technical fest would be useful for the practical presentations. He called upon the students to think big and bring their ideas into visualisation.

Scientist ‘F’ of Naval Science and Technological Laboratories GV Manoj Kumar said that the college education should be developed according to the needs of the industry and society. The events like technical fests would help the students as launching pads for their ideas, he added. Principal of VIET Y Prasanna Kumar presided over the event  and a large number of students from various colleges were present.
