World Spiritual Fest in Tirupati

Tirupati: Towards taking the concept of Spirituality, Science and Youth forward, the state government has proposed to organise the ‘World Spiritual Fest’ in the pilgrim city from March 23-25.

Addressing the media in Tirupati on Wednesday, District Collector PS Pradyumna said the event was proposed as suggested by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

“Smart city means not only creating infrastructure, providing drinking water, good sanitation, flyovers, etc, but also taking up certain programmes which take the city’s pride to further levels,” he added. As Tirupati is a world-famous pilgrim centre, it was proposed to organise the event here.

The AP Tourism department with the help of Municipal Corporation, TUDA and other departments will organise the event, District Collector said. 
“Art of Living’ Sri Sri Ravisankar will be the knowledge partner for this event.
The whole world now focusing on what is spirituality and how can it be taken into the daily chores of everyone which improves their activities,” he added. 

The three-day fest will also lay its emphasis on this aspect and programmes will be chalked out in this direction. Sri Sri Ravisankar will be participating in the event on August 24 and the details of other programmes and visiting dignitaries are yet to be finalised, he said. 

Simultaneously, some other related programmes will be conducted at Shilparamam, Tarakarama Stadium and various halls in city universities. Some programmes will be on payment basis, though 90 per cent of the programmes are free to public, the Collector explained.

Various themes will be developed to make the event a grand success in which youth will be given more importance to demonstrate that spirituality is not only for the aged but also to the youth. All the programmes will be based on the concept of Spirituality and Science. 

The government has allocated Rs 3 crore to conduct the fest and the Tourism department will work with VIBRI media in organising the event. 
The Collector released a poster of the event.

Municipal Commissioner C Hari Kiran, Sub Collector Nishanth Kumar, TUDA chairman G Narasimha Yadav, Tourism department ED Jayaprakash, District Tourism Officer Chandramouli and APTDC Divisional Manager Suresh Kumar Reddy participated in the meeting.
