BJP denounces negative campaign against Centre

Vijayawada: BJP Mahila Morcha national in-charge and former Union Minister D Purandeswari said that her party never said that it would go back on implementing the assurances of the AP Reorganisation Act. 

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, she alleged that a negative campaign was going on against the Union government. Several assurances were implemented and remaining issues would also be fulfilled soon, she said.

The former Union Minister said that the government released Rs 2,500 crore for Amaravati capital construction. Responding to a question on no fund allocation for capital construction in the Union Budget 2018-19, she asked the State government as to how the Centre could release funds without submission of detailed project report and plans.

She said that the State government did not submit properly even utility certificates. She found fault with the State government for the slow pace of execution of underground drainage works.   

The Centre was implementing the provisions in the AP Reorganisation Act one after another she said and added that different political parties were trying to tarnish the image of the BJP. The Centre is committed to development Andhra Pradesh, she added.

She asked the State government as to how the Centre would implement the AP Reorganisation Act in a timeframe. The Centre would extend all benefits with special package on par with Special Category Status, she said. BJP SC Morcha state wing president D Sambaiah and media cell in-charge P Dileep were also present.
