Tirupati: Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and MP Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank visited Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) premises on Thursday and interacted with the faculty and research scholars.

He also visited the Sanskrit Science Exhibition gallery, the Model Career Cell and ICT Lab. In-charge Registrar Prof Ch P Satyanarayana said that Dr Pokhriyal was a unique personality as he was a politician as well as a literary giant, something which is very rare.

On this occasion, Dr Pokhriyal gave a very inspiring speech about recognising the importance of Sanskrit.  He stressed that Sanskrit, a treasure trove of knowledge, will become one of the leading languages in the future and he called upon the research scholars to come up with innovations buried deep within the ocean of Sanskrit.  He also validated the need of a two-fold plan to achieve a goal-namely-vision and mission.

Former V-C of SV Vedic University Prof Sudarshan Sharma also spoke on the occasion. Dean Prof RLN Sastry, Prof KE Devanathan, Prof MLN Murthy, Prof J Ramakrishna and others took part.
